About TSLeader™
Developed to simplify the process of noting objects within a drawing, TSLeader
provides a more intuitive approach to creating leaders with notes.
Like AutoCAD's LEADER command, TSLeader will draw a
LEADER followed immediately with the opportunity to type an attached
annotation. "Attached" means the LEADER and MTEXT form an associative pair
and the LEADER automatically stretches upon moving its MTEXT. If you're currently
using POLYLINE leaders you are not taking advantage of this feature. Plus a LEADER's
arrow head remains correctly aligned when the angle of the adjacent leader segment
is changed.
TSLeader gives you the benefits of associative leaders while providing much greater
flexibility and convenience compared to AutoCAD's LEADER command. Here's how:
- User composes annotation on-screen, in real-time using dynamic text, not the
internal text editor or command line.
- Leader settings such as leader type, arrow style, arrow size, can all be changed "on-the-fly" with image-button dialog box. Modify dialog box to include your own custom arrow styles.
- Text style and text size are not controlled by dimstyle settings, and can be changed and modified during command operation.
- Layer for placing leader and annotation can be both set and modified during command operation as well.
- Dialog box displays a graphic image of the current settings.
- All settings are saved and restored each time TSLeader is used.
- TSLeader's many default settings can be easily changed, so that TSLeader is configured to operate per your method of noting, including left-justified text for right-attached leaders.
- Utilities are directly at hand for positoning text, copying text, attaching text, updating leaders and more.
- Does NOT change or alter your dimstyles or dimstyle settings.
Advantages over AutoCAD's bonus utility "Quick Leader" (in addition to list above):
- More predictable results when toggling ortho during leader construction.
- Able to create vertical leaders with top and bottom attachment; no forced hook line.
- MTEXT can be left-justified for right attached leaders.
- Specified layer and text style are automatically created if not currently defined within drawing.
- Angle for first leader segment can be any typed degrees, two points or simply pick to match another leader.
